Bigger & Better: Celebrating the Winners of Our Annual Rhubarb Contest!

What a day! The sun was shining, the breeze was blowing, and gardeners from all around brought out their absolute best for this year’s Rhubarb Contest, sponsored by Preferred Insurance.

From gargantuan leaves that could double as beach umbrellas to stalks that seemed to grow straight toward the clouds, the competition was fierce—and incredibly fun!

Here is a look at this year’s record-breaking growers and their award-winning entries:

🏆 Longest Stalk Category

When it comes to length, these stalks were truly impressive!

• 1st Place: Joseph set the bar ridiculously high with a massive 38 ½ inch stalk! Holding that giant took some real strength! 🥇

• 2nd Place: Jack brought in a fantastic runner-up with a stalk measuring 29 ¼ inches. 🥈

• 3rd Place: Whitney (and crew!) showed off an amazing 28 ¾ inch stalk to round out the top three. 🥉

🍃 Widest Leaf Category

You have to see these leaves to believe them!

• 1st Place: Alysha took home top honors with a staggering 40 ½ inch wide leaf. It practically hid her whole upper body! 🥇

• 2nd Place: Jack made another podium appearance with an impressive 38 ¾ inch leaf. Double winner energy! 🥈

• 3rd Place: Grant rounded out the winners' circle with a huge 37 ½ inch leaf spread across the grass. 🥉
